    Description

    This is a slightly smaller than life Loon Decoy carved in 1988 by Renee Wickman of Park Rapids, Mn.  It has her signature on the underneath plus stickers that say Wickman's Woodcraft with their address and another that says, 'The Common Loon, Minnesota State Bird,  Hand Made from White Pine.'  The decoy's head is turned sideways in a lifelike pose.
    The decoy is in perfect condition with no scratches, dents or damage of any kind that we could find.  It does have two brown spots that appear to be where a knot has bled through the paint.   From its chest to its tail, it is 11 inches long.  It is 6 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide.  It weighs just over one pound.
    We do not have information on Ms. Wickman but we have seen a lot of Loon decoys and this one is very nice.  If you have a cabin by a lake that Loons frequent you are lucky enough.  What a pleasure to listen to their unique call.
