    Description

Argon One M.2 Aluminum Case For Raspberry Pi 4B
Note: The board is not compatible with M.2 NVME Storage Drives.
    Description:
Argon 40 chose an aluminum Case around the Raspberry PI to provide additional functions for the PI.
The latest Argon One M.2 of the Argon One series, it looks exactly the same as other Argon box, but some of you will notice that it is slightly taller. Argon One M.2 has a plastic lifting base, where we found an M.2 SATA to USB carrier board, which provides an SSD interface to enable our Raspberry PI to boot from the SSD.
Argon One M.2, just like the previous Argon M.2, it has an angular appearance. The aggressive lines on the top of the aluminum chassis provide a sleek aesthetic for the relatively large chassis, measuring 4.1 x 3.6 x 1.5 inches (105 x 93 x 39 mm).
In the case of the front and side, we did not see the slots or ports, on the contrary, Argon ONE M.2 follows the design aesthetics of the previous model and routes all the ports to the rear. All of our usb ports and ethernet jacks are facing back. your Raspberry PI 4 will have two full-size HDMI ports, a USB C port and headphone jack. On a plastic lifting base, we see an additional USB3.0 port, which is used to connect the internal M.2 SATA drive to the PI's USB.
    Features:
There is an SSD in Argon One M.2, and Raspberry PI 4 is a desktop computer. Of course, it will not be your main machine, but you can do many such settings. The ideal use of Argon One M.2 is as a second computer; the design of the case helps to accomplish this task. Media consumption equipment is another option. A large M.2 SATASSD can be used to store your media and as a boot device. OSMC is a popular media operating system that requires less than 1GB of space.
How to use Argon One M.2:
Argon One M.2 is designed for booting from SATA SSD, so the MicroSD card slot cannot be accessed.
For our first boot, we use the Twister operating system, which is an additional function of the Raspberry Pi operating system, and then boot the Raspberry Pi. Following our guide on installing and booting Raspberry PI OS from usb, we transfer the installation to SSD, turn off Pi, and then remove the microSD card.
    Argon One M.2 Operating temperature:
When the PI 4 is running at the initial speed, the temperature of Argon One M.2 is 44 degrees Celsius, which is only 4 degrees Celsius higher than the bare board PI 4. This is mainly because it is a huge heat sink. At this time, the surface temperature of Argon One M.2 It is 30.2 degrees.
When we ran the 1.5GHz CPU test, the temperature rose to 54 degrees, which was 11 degrees lower than our initial Raspberry PI 4. At this time, the temperature of the Raspberry PI 4 was 65 degrees. If the temperature rises to 55 degrees, the fan of Argon One M.2 will start at 10% power and slowly cool down the PI below the trigger point.
In order to promote Argon One M.2, we overclocked the CPU to 2.1GHz and saw the surface temperature rise to 34 degrees. Running at 2.1GHz, the pi temperature rose to 58 degrees, and the fan was triggered at 55 degrees, making the temperature below 60. The temperature stabilized at 45 degrees, slightly higher than the idle temperature.
